Regrettably looking for a new home for my Clydesdale mare Knockandu After Shock aka Thorn ??
Thorn is 14 years old and has been a broodmare for the last few years. She was ride and drive before that. We purchased her in July last year with a foal at foot. My plan was to get her riding again but due to work commitments and young children I do not have the time, nor the confidence to put into her.
I have tacked her up and sat on her but that's as far as it went. She is lovely natured, can be nervous with new people but once she trusts you she is brilliant. Good with traffic.
She does have a few negatives though. She can be stubborn and a bit bargy in the stable and hates her feet/legs being touched. We have to sedate her for farrier.
She is prone to feather mites but has no other known health issues. She is good to stable, catch and lead and has no vices. We stable her at night and turn her out in the day and she seems to like this routine and waits at the gate to come in.
She had a dental approx 6 months ago and feet trimmed 6 weeks ago. She is restarting her vaccinations tomorrow as I accidently let them lapse.
She is fully passported with the Clydesdale Horse Society. Approx 16.2hh but hasn't been measured.
I had a saddle professionally fitted a few months ago and her tack is negotiable.
I'm in no rush to rehome as she really would be missed so she absolutely must go to a 5 ?? home. She ideally needs to go to someone that is going to put time in and work her, or be a companion/broodmare.
