Vintage 1960s Moulton Bike - small wheeel, suspension
This is a good starter project for anyone who wants to start enjoying the Vintage bike scene.
This bike is in a well used / a lot of surface rust but it is structurally sound and mechanically sound condition.
It has not been rubbed down to remove rust as some people like the patina effect.
For a cheap fix, the frame could maybe be wrapped in tapes to make it sparkle once again.
The tubes in the tyres hold air, but the tyres would, ideally need replacement.
From the 1960s
Has a nice Brookes saddle on it.
Alexander Eric Moulton CBE FREng (9 April 1920 – 9 December 2012) was an English engineer and inventor, specialising in suspension design.
Moultons were made to a good standard and they deserve to be cherished. They are smaller but fully formed than a normal larger-wheeled bicycle.
Suspension is a compressed spring and damper at the front and a simple “clapperbox” suspension which was also used on the top-of-the-range Moulton Speed ‘S’ models.
