These ducks have, in 11 months, with still two weeks to go (POL May) given me over 300 very large eggs each, to which I have had 100% fertility rate, 18 eggs - all hatched and then a further 6 hatched also.
I have been selling their eggs since June and as hatching eggs since my prime ducks were a year old from November 2023 onwards, which is provenance that my ducks lay in the shorter darker days of the year too, they slightly slowed laying early December through to Mid December, otherwise they are truly remarkable!
For sale are the breeding ducks high fertility rated eggs that are collected from their enclosure every morning, stored in date marked restricted movement box, in a cool dry atmosphere, that are rotated four times a day, so eggs should remain fertile for at least 10 days. This is so I can guarantee you will receive fresh eggs (not older than five days on dispatch) from the prime breeding birds only, with no possibility of wild / feral drakes flying in or confusion of the age of the egg and / or the age of the parent (too young or too old).
Two magnificent ducks from the 18 hatch, which I specifically chose to keep, started laying at 28 weeks - mid February & have since early March been laying large eggs everyday & getting larger,
these eggs are already great for cakes, two of these large eggs would suffice in a cake recipe for four hens eggs.
The ducks are daily fed quality layers & on their ponds plenty of Niacin via shredded greens (a selection of lettuce or foraged plants & leaves etc. see photo) & often added treats of Banana and Tomato, they are thoroughly spoilt. Eggs should contain the important Vitamin K - producing healthy birds.
No wonder I have had requests to incubate more eggs!
Price for hatching eggs is from : £2.50 each - this for 6 to 10 eggs,
5 eggs or less is £2.75 each.
