By successfully crossbreeding the 2 breeds, these birds & their laying offspring have laid virtually everyday, all laying very large eggs & are great lookers.
They have wonderful white sheen feathers of the White Campbell, with an air the Campbells 'Runner' elegance & the Aylesbury grandeur finishes off their stunning looks. Once these develop into large fine birds they are very productive, this in eggs & / or in size. (see last photo's).
The amazing original crossbred ducks, in a year, have given me over 320 very large eggs each. These Ducks & their offspring breeders, show 100% fertility rate. The Ducks hatching rate was 100%, but a thermostat malfunction on two separate incubations, lowered it to 90%, hatching 38/42, which is still exceptional.
I have had lots of demand for these crossbred breeding pairs & ducks, fetching good prices. Those that have viewed, who have remarked how striking they are, buy them & returned for more.
I have sold the eggs all year round, (which is provenance that my ducks lay in the shorter darker days of the year too). They slightly slowed laying early December through to Mid December, otherwise they are truly remarkable!
The ducks are fed quality layers, given plenty of Niacin via shredded greens & often added treats. Laying ducks have access to oyster shell grit & all are thoroughly spoilt. Eggs should be very healthy & contain the important Vitamin K - producing these wonderful birds.
