Advert Description
A rare Revox A77 MKIII 2 Track reel to reel tape recorder in the high speed version. This is a high speed recorder as manufactured by Revox and is not the more common reconstruction or conversion. The factory high speeds can be identified by the original screen printed speed markings on the front panel and a correctly positioned capstan motor.
The machine has been well cared for an is in it's original condition. Cosmetically there are a few marks from normal use and handling but overall it is in very tidy condition. The wooden case is largely unmarked and includes its original bottom feet.
All the functions work correctly including play, record, ff, rw, VU meters and auto tape stop.
There is approximately 4mm of flat wear on the tape heads.
The 4 spark suppression capacitors have been replaced by Vishay X2 equivalents.
The capstan is in good condition. The capstan motor is the original version with a back ball bearing. There is some slight bearing noise when the machine is used in the upright position.
The sound quality is excellent and there is no noticeable difference between to quality of the input and recorded output from the tape.
