6 x Bourbon Red Turkey Hatching Eggs
6 Hatching Eggs from our flock of Bourbon Red Turkeys. Our flock of 29 Bourbon Red Turkeys (6 males and 23 females) free range around our smallholding in Orkney.
Bourbon Red Turkeys are listed as priority by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. Please see my other listings for more breeds recognised as priority by RBST. We are a smallholding based in Orkney specialising in rare breed poultry.
Bourbon Red males weigh up to 33lbs (14.9kgs) and hens can reach up to 18lbs (8.1kgs).
The fertility rates for 2023 (based on 102 eggs) were 93.13% fertile (95 out of 102), 91.57% hatch rate (87 out of 95) and overall rate of 85.29%.
Please allow eggs to rest for 24hrs after receipt before incubating.
Eggs will be securely packed to the best of our ability to ensure safe travel through the postal system and to avoid any potential damage. Fragile tape will be securely adhered to the outside of the box in order to make postal services aware of the fragility of the package.
Where possible,eggs will be posted within 2 days after purchase, however please note that we only post Monday to Thursday to avoid the eggs being unnecessary delayed in the postal system. Eggs will be issued via Royal Mail First Class Signed for. Price includes postage and packaging.
Please note that fertility rates can be affected by transportation through the post and we cannot guarantee fertility once the eggs have been through the postal system.
We cannot take responsibility for fertility and hatch rates due to the purchasers chosen method of incubation.
