I am more than happy to receive an offer as I need to reduce my long term collection.
A Rare & Original WW1 Small Brass Bruce Bairnsfather cartoon character of "Old Bill' or "Ole Bill".
Made of solid brass in the Jewellers Quarter of Birmingham, to help to raise funds for the war effort.
I've seen lots of car mascots & other items, but I've never quite seen one like this being so small. Obviously this one isn't a car mascot. I believe one other example exists in the Imperial War Museum in London.
In expected used & condition for an item of this age & nature. Obviously it's small & quite crudely cast but it is not modern or a reproduction, as the dark & little green patina still remains to the side & underneath where it hasn't been polished.
Please use my hand as a guide to just how small he is. He's approx 1 3/4" tall.
