Orvis Battenkill 8/9 wt fly reel plus spare spool, boxes etc

The Orvis Battenkill range or reels are a proven family of reels. Orvis suggest the 8/9 is suitable for both freshwater and lighter saltwater including tropical saltwater such as Bonefish. Weight 5 1/2 ounces diameter 3 3/4 inches.

This reel is in immaculate condition save for a small scuff on the rim of one spool - see photos. For sale complete with the original box, reel pouch and Orvis instructions. Additionally, a spare spool complete with bag and box. Even the boxes are immaculate!

Whilst I purchased the reel some years ago, in recent years it has been my back up reel on my Bonefish rod. Fact is if you're fishing in a remote locations and you have a gear failure / breakage you need to have back up gear with you as there is rarely a tackle shop round the corner! Hence minimal use.

Now's the time to thin down my gear!
