Engine conversion using a kit by Alan Dawes, a trike builder in his day that advertised the kit in Volksworld
The engine is the long lived EA827 design fitted in all VW/Audi cars from 1972 up until the last of the VW Sharan's in the early 00's, so you can use this kit to swap in a newver or even TDI engine as its a 4 cylinder 1.8, found also in the Ford Galaxy. All mounting patterns are the same on the engine block to make a swap easier.
It was fitted with a brand new Weber carb too for ease of running
I stripped it down and cleaned it up, replaced the sump gasket, valve cover seals, cambelt, plastic covers, new starter motor, serviced, etc etc
Starts and runs
The gearbox is the much sought after 2ltr box the Subaru guys love as its a 6 rib so very strong
This is a complete bolt in kit, ready to go in your van, 4 bolts on the subframe I had powdercoated, and that's it. No guesswork needed to make parts work together, it's all there
Way better drive and improved fuel economy, just like a modern car
Asking a reasonable £2800 for everything, which is half the price of any other set up air-cooled or otherwise
