Jill Dando was tragically murdered on the 26th April, 1999 during the week covered by this edition of the Radio Times - 24th to the 30th April. Such a poignant and sad coincidence!
A double page feature on pages 22 and 23 previews the first episode of Jill’s new series, Antiques Inspectors, that was televised on the evening of the 25th April, the day before she died.
The money from the sale of this item will be added to a fund for vehicles and medical/surgical equipment for volunteer medics working in Ukraine. The small teams of unpaid volunteers from around the world are in constant danger, working only a few hundred metres behind the frontlines. In the past year six of them have lost their lives and a further sixteen have been seriously injured.
The volunteers are treating and saving the lives of civilians, Ukraine troops and Russian prisoners of war. Please help them! Details of their work can be provided to anyone interested in helping.
