Super stocky 10 year old 14hh gelding
Midge is
super sweet boy who enjoys a fuss and a groom.
Excellent to handle, lead, bath (handled by my 7 year old son) load and travel.
He’s great to hack alone and in company, happy to go first or last and not bothered by traffic.
He doesn’t fizz up in open spaces or after a canter and is nicely forward but not strong. Has been ridden on the beach by a nervous young rider on a very windy day and was foot perfect. Happily standing still when the other pony was being silly. Previously owned by a more mature lady who just pootled about.
He hadn’t done much in the school previous to us but is a quick learner and eager to please. Again has a forward thinking attitude and walks, trots, canters and stops when asked but certainly won’t win a dressage competition any time soon
He’s just been introduced to poles and a small fence which is something he certainly seems to enjoy.
We have only ever ridden him in a snaffle and he is happy to
live in or out alone or with a herd.
His negative points are-
Although he is good to pick up/out all four feet he does struggle with one hind leg with the farrier- a little more practice and this should be easily rectified
He does not like to be tapped behind the leg- he will buck- although a tap on the shoulder is fine
He’s a low maintenance, easy to keep little chap who’s now looking to go on and be someones number one
