Advert Description
Have had this tandem some years.
Bought to ensure my grandson could cycle in reasonable safety.
Hasn't been used since Covid Lockdown.
Was a US model, brought in from Florida, IIRC by the guy who sold it to me.
Mountain style, robust, steel framed, not a lightweight. Just so you're forewarned if you intend carrying it on a roof rack...
Will post pictures later... There is some paint damage.
Will make a good starter tandem for someone.
I swapped the brake cables around (Yanks like a left hand front brake operation) I cannot see why... 27 Shimano gears, rat trap pedals with conventional toeclips.
(no fancy stuff)
Having a clear out, need space. Can demo with potential purchaser as "stoker" at purchaser's risk... I'm a bit rusty myself, but I have ridden tandems since 1977...
Now, I found reviews of this model by Googling "Raleigh SC Tandem Review"
I advise potential purchasers to read them before asking me any questions.
Best I can say is, as stated before, it's a good starter tandem upon which you can establish whether or not you're suited to tandem riding... A few spills won't reduce its value too much...
I'm 5'10" (1.68 m ) tall, suits me as pilot.
Grandson rode it when he was a lot shorter than I am, could still ride it.
I am not selling by way of business... I'm retired, and not from cycle sales...
