14hh 15 year old new forest mare seeking new home. Would consider loan with view to buy as want to make sure she gets the perfect match. Low 4 figs. Will come with full wardrobe. Based in Sussex BN5
Such a heartbreaking decision but not one that has been taken lightly! Due to lack of time and funds it has to be done :(
She needs a confident and experienced rider as she is a typical cheeky new forest, and also a typical moody mare! A few quirks but she’s not dangerous. Definitely not a confidence giver by any means! But she is super fun for the right person.
Would be suited as a happy hacker or for someone to have some low level fun with, but she will only travel with company. Travelling alone caused her a great deal of stress and what I believe to be the reason for her stomach ulcers in her previous home. Travels perfectly fine with a companion. Loves the odd jump and cross country, doesn’t like schooling or anything too technical. She much prefers to canter around fields popping over logs!
Good for farrier (been barefoot for 3 years and wears boots for riding), vet, to clip (just need quiet clippers for her face!). Needs sedation for dentist. Does not like to be wormed so have to be sneaky! Does not like to be left alone in the field and needs a herd environment, not individual turnout. Needs careful weight management throughout spring and summer. I’ve worked really hard the past two years to keep her slim, so needs to be kept on top of for her health and to avoid laminitis!
All up to date with teeth vacs and wormer.
Please only serious enquiries. She needs someone who can handle her sass and who’s not going to be put off if she chucks in a buck or rear or is being a grump. If she senses you’re nervous she will use that to her advantage!
