Fen is based in Keston, Biggin Hill, south east. He is an Icelandic gelding, lovely on the ground and easy to do in every way. He loves people. Looking for a rider up to 2 days per week for hacking and schooling. On a hack, he is happier in company but an experienced rider would do absolutely fine alone, he just looks for friends and takes confidence from his rider. He really enjoys his hacks. He can get excited on fast rides but you can set the pace from the beginning and he will step up or down. Not spooky just forward. Therefore not a novice ride and not for a child. He's small in height but strong and powerful, not a riding school type.
In the school he schools nicely. He can tolt, he's 4 gaited. There is an icelandic trainer available if interested in this, and opportunities for shows. He needs regular exercise being a native so I would expect the loaner to ride him forwards. He's very responsive with a smooth canter. Great on upward transitions. He is not a jumper but will happily pop the occasional jump. We have an excellent instructor available at the yard for dressage too. Local shows are just next door! Fen has scored in the mid 60s in an intro dressage test.
At the yard, there is off-road hacking with fields and woodlands to ride in. There are many bridle paths. There is a school available at all times of the day/evening with flood lights based in a quiet adult yard where the school is free. A place to really unwind and enjoy riding.
He has never bucked, reared or anything but he does need someone experienced to have fun with. There's no chores, he lives out, just need to tidy up after yourself. Financial contribution is needed at £100 per month to be paid monthly in advance.
