Mickey is a gorgeous bay Welsh C gelding. We bought Mickey for our 7 year old little girl after her loan pony had to go back home. Unfortunately he is just a bit too strong for our little one and is starting to knock her confidence, so we feel it would be best to find him another home with a more confident, perhaps older rider. Would equally suit a small adult.
He is perfect on lead rein but off lead rein our little one struggles sometimes to halt him. Nothing unsafe or nasty at all, he just enjoys pottering and can go a bit deaf and he knows he is stronger than his little rider.
Has never kicked, bucked or reared. 7 year old can catch him, lead him and load him into the trailer.
Ideally he needs to find a home where he is ridden a few times a week as when he arrived here he seemed stiff- after clear x-rays the vets concluded his ligaments were a bit tight, and set us a rehab programme where we quietly brought him back into work. Since this he has been fine, but it is something we want to disclose to next home. Keeping him ridden is the best thing, left as a field ornament he won't be as happy!
He is up to date with vaccinations so can go straight out to pony club if that's your thing. Up to date with farrier and is barefoot.
We are selling Mickey from the field as we don't have anywhere to trial him at home.
My little girl really doesn't want to say goodbye to her pony but we feel this is the best decision all round.
