Fenix
Full up 15/15.1hh to mature a full up 15.2hh 5 year old Irish cob gelding.
Don’t be put off by his age as it’s like this horse has been here before!
Fenix come over from Ireland 4 weeks ago now, he was backed slowly as a late 3 year old over in a trekking Center and was only sold due to closure. I would go as far to say I trust Fenix with anyone on his back…. He’s been ridden by children , novices , adults and experienced riders .
Very very safe leg in each corner type, hacks on his own or in company at the front or at the back and isn’t fussed of other horses go bobbing off past him he’s extremely level headed for his age .
Genuinely enjoys his work, loves jumping although he’s never going to the Olympics he’s currently comfortable jumping 75 cm courses and I don’t doubt he’d do higher with more experience.
Brillant in traffic , my yard comes straight out into a 40mph road and we get all sorts of Lorrie’s and busses and he’s fine.
Snaffle mouthed at all times even in open spaces , never bucked or reared and isn’t the spooky type.
He naturally holds himself into a bit of an outline so he would also do a lovely little dressage test
There isn’t anything really he won’t turn his hoof to, he’s a sweet boy who will only become a better horse with age.
Only downside is that Fenix is your typical “just come over from Ireland” type and when we first got him he was timid for a few days although now he knows us he is fine he just needs to get to know you but he’s not nasty .
Over in Ireland they can be a bit harsh with them so I’d say he’s just seen a harsh hand once upon a time and remembered it but he is only young to so it may have just been the journey over made him need to settle in but he is okay now.
Turns out with mares or geldings can live in or out
No health issues lumps bumps ect
Passed health checks before travel but is open to vetting if needed
Although he is a bit wary he was perfect to clip , load and travel I’ve had him on a lorry and on a trailer.
Currently shod as preference ( I shoe all my horses ) but he’d always been barefoot till I got him.
Very sought after type and the first to see will definitely buy
