17.3hh ISH gelding out Carrick diamond lad, grandsire king of diamonds.
Walt is 9. He started his life in Ireland before moving to the army base in Wiltshire, Walt joined the British vaulting team for short period. Since then Walt has been with me Walt has competed at low level ridden showing and impressed judges. Hack out in company front or back,he hacks out alone but he requires a confident rider.Walt is great with and good to catch in the field. He will live in or out. Walt hasn’t had loads done with him as he’s a big horse who bloomed late and due to his size and age I didn’t want to ask to much of him whilst still growing, he is totally unspoilt.
The reason for sale is due to my own physical health, I’ve been too unwell to do much with Walt and he deserves a home where he can be in more regular work. He has 3 fantastic paces and will ride in a nice outline when asked. He is snaffled mouth, he has excellent breaks. Walt is not a novice ride, Walt can do the odd buck and he will test you after a few rides. The behaviour doesn’t last long once you show him your confident. Due to this I wouldn’t recommend him for a beginner. He’s ready to have a fantastic education with someone who would love to take him to the next level. he loves cuddles and kisses, being groomed, he loads/travels and is great for the farrier, dentist, vet etc.
Walt has no scars, lumps or bumps. Walt did go lame for a period later last year when the horses were stuck on box rest, he is cleared of anything nasty like navicular, the vets advised it could have been a very slight flare up of arthritis in his front left pasture which since fully settled down. I have chosen to put remedial shoeing on Walt but I’m confident he could have regular shoes. I would like Walt to go to a fantastic home. He’s a very special boy with one of the most loving personality’s I’ve ever met but he needs a confident and experienced rider to take him to the next level.
