Catawiki’s goal is to make special objects universally available. Our weekly auctions feature thousands of unusual, rare, and exceptional objects you won’t find in just any store. Two (2) bookends KO 1262 in satined pressed glass, designed in 1934 by Lucienne Bloch (1905-1999) and executed by Glasfabriek Leerdam. These have no stamped mark, which indicates that they were made after Lucienne Bloch had ended her activities for Leerdam, so most likely in the second half of the 1930s. Like her other glass designs, these seated girls are distinguished by their simple, stylized yet expressive form. As usual with pressed glass from Leerdam, there are some air pockets. Furthermore, they are in a very beautiful condition. 67428245
