Signed Autograph Letter – 2 pp. in-12.
Nice, March 14, 1893.
It is here – where I have been for three months that I received the latest issues of Chimère and, the day before yesterday, the collection that you were kind enough to send me to Caen. I am writing to thank you very sincerely, and to ask you how I could do it better than in words.
I do have a copy of my insolent Sonnets available, but I blush at these very young peccadilloes (except four or five) to the point of not being able to bring myself to put them back under the eyes of a judge who has the right to to be severe. Do you prefer a collection of La Pléiade (review he had founded with Albert Aurier, and which published texts by Barrès, Viele Griffin, Rachilde Henri de Régnier, etc.): it is rarer, more difficult to find, less unworthy , although also unworthy of my new self?
Finally, is it good to pay your debt? – here are some less young verses which you can do with.
Believe …
Signed: Brinn'Gaubast

PS: I did not respond recently to your very obliging offer, relative to the insertion of a notice from me, on Aurier; but do you want it to be agreed... that I will carry out your proposal when I have his Works
posthumous? In honor of the dear departed, I would agree not to sign so that this notice was at the head. »
