Complete copy of the 4 in-12 volumes, contemporary bound in full basna, smooth spines adorned with mosaic pieces of a latticework decoration and a special repeating butterfly iron.
The work is divided into 4 eras which each form a volume. The 1st contains the brilliant days of Louis XIV. The 2nd, the happy times of his life, whose happiness began to deteriorate. The 3rd, his misfortunes. The 4th, the regency with observations on the etiquette of the court, its finances, its political character etc.

Condition: Good copy despite the scuffs on the back of the 4 volumes at the top of volume 1 and at the bottom of volumes 2, 3 and 4 2 caps leveled, with lack of fragments. Rubbing and scratches on the covers, slightly bumped corners. Fresh and clean interiors.
