Catawiki’s goal is to make special objects universally available. Our weekly auctions feature thousands of unusual, rare, and exceptional objects you won’t find in just any store. Superb and rare basin or cup in molded pressed glass, and frosted in places! This piece is from Maurice Model (1900-1973), a factory based in Verdun (France) in the 1920s and 1930s only, because it was destroyed by bombing in June 1940. It is signed and these mermaid decorations are superb, aren't they? not ? In good condition, no chips, obviously some discreet signs of wear all the same. From 1925 his company became Etablissements Maurice Model, until the cessation of activity during the Second World War. In the Verdun factory, Model manufactured art glassware, in particular lighting glassware. He will also create luxury bottles for major fashion designers. Maurice Model created a lighting company whose facilities were made available to the military aviation in 1939. Most of Model's creations were intended for export. 67468581
