Schuco Patent 1050 Studio Mercedes Racer - LAST version from 1976
Made in Western Germany.
I am selling an original Schuco 1050 Race car, not a newer edition (see stapled differential on photo 5).
In excellent, complete condition, clearly little played with. The mechanism can be wound up very well and therefore works.
Car length is 14 cm. The wheels, steering wheel, tires, etc. were removable in this toy racing car and the steering mechanism also works.
This racer from 1976 has no metal race number shield (so no mounting holes in the bodywork)!
After the bankruptcy in 1976, approximately 7000 Studio Racers were completed for sale with parts that were available, these cars are recognizable by 1 or more of the following characteristics; Unprinted bottom and/or rims, no metal race number shield (so no mounting holes in the body) and possibly race number sticker instead of metal plate.
Note: This is an original Schuco with the winding hole on the right side, before the war these racers were released with the winding hole on the left side. The metal plate between the rear wheels is stapled, as shown in the photo of the underside. With the Repros from the 1980s, this is no longer stapled and completely smooth. So I am selling the original version here and not a replica from the 1980s or more recent.
