Piero Guccione was born in 1935 in Scicli, Sicily. After graduating from the Art Institute of Catania, he moved to Rome where he frequented the Neorealist painters Attardi and Vespignani.
From 1966 to 1969 he participated in the Paris Biennale and was assistant to Renato Guttuso at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where he was also professor.
The first participation in the Venice Biennale dates back to 1968, but he will be present in four other editions. 67534827
