Allbrit planimeter, serial number 9968, is the adjustable type with a range of metric scales fitted in a leatherette covered wooden box. It was manufactured around 1949. With the magnifier which can be rotated to read either the scale setting vernier or the measuring vernier. Calibration details are recorded on the paper inside the lid. I am not sure how it works and areas are to be measured, but all parts seem to be in the box. Tracing arm 23.5cm long, anchor arm 20.5cm, the box measurements 28 x 11 x 5.5cm

Polar planimeters, used for measuring enclosed areas on drawings and maps, were invented by Jakob Amsler in 1854. He was professor of mathematics at Zurich University, Switzerland 67337975
