Catawiki’s goal is to make special objects universally available. Our weekly auctions feature thousands of unusual, rare, and exceptional objects you won’t find in just any store. 1918 Cadillac Type 57 in incredible condition.

This vehicle has never been disassembled or thoroughly restored; but has been kept in its original condition and in working order throughout most of its service life. The green finish appears to be the original paintwork and shows a nice patina. The fenders should have been repainted some time ago.

It features the rare and attractive original 'Doctor's Coupe' chassis. As shown in the photos, the interior is also perfectly preserved and includes a myriad of original details that would be very difficult to find today in a 1918 vehicle.

Among other interesting features, it is fitted with a partially removable 'fat man' steering wheel for easy ingress and egress by the driver, as well as a folding co-driver's seat.

The car was imported from the United States to France a long time ago and it arrived in Spain 15 years ago. It was bought by a renowned expert in pre-war vehicles, who kept it in perfect working order. Due to their deterioration, new exhaust lines were installed; the wooden rims were also refurbished.

Since then, it has participated in many successful classic car events. The power and smoothness of its V8 engine are remarkable, making it unusually pleasant and easy to drive for a car from 1918.

It is registered as a historic vehicle in Spain, with all relevant paperwork in order.

The car is located in Barcelona, Spain. 67252743
