Het Bureau is a cycle of novels in seven parts (approximately five thousand pages) by the Dutch author J.J. Voskuil, and meticulously describes the day-to-day affairs of a bureau based on the Meertens Institute and its predecessor, where the author worked between 1957 and 1987, although the cycle runs up to and including 1989. The first part of Het Bureau appeared in 1996, the last in the year 2000.
