Born in Bergen Op Zoom 1898 and died in 1968.
Studied at the Antwerp Academy, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. Spent much of his life in France. The art of Van Gogh, Matisse and Gauguin had a great influence on him.
