Claude Roux was born on the summer day of June 21, 1937 in Gréoux les Bains in Haute-Provence where he lives. He has been painting since the age of 15. The watercolorist Lucien Jacques discovers it and presents it to Jean Giono.
"Anyone born in our vicinity breathes in the paintings and gouaches of Claude Roux the atmosphere so difficult to communicate by the subtle handling of tones, of these so-called Alpes de Haute-Provence that only the pen of Giono knew how to evoke with the same talent. "
