Original first edition in this format of this beautiful yearbook, decorated with 12 woodcuts and a special event on every day of the year, collected and published by the author-printer-bookseller Jean d'Ongoys (1530-1600), from the area of Saint-Omer but active in Paris from 1573-1579.

Jean d'Ongoys has written and published several curious works such as a recipe for Spanish oil to cure all ailments. in 1572.
He was born in Busnes (Pas de Calais) while he himself indicates that he is a Morinien (from the land of the Morins). He married Marie Gervais in 1573, widow of the printer-publisher Mahiet le Roux, whose business he took over.
Highly sought after and extremely rare.
Condition is good, title page in facsimile. paper slightly tanned and mottled according to age.
