A beautiful post-impressionist painting by the Dutch painter Gerard Schaperkotter (1914-2006). With passe partout and frame. The painting is signed and dated 1954. The image size of the painting is: 40 cm. x 50 cm. The general condition of the work is good. The frame has some signs of use. The painting can be viewed at Kunsthandel Martins in Wolvega and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Gerard Schaperkotter was born in Amsterdam (1914) and died in Amstelveen (2006). He was initially a graphic designer and later he also became a watercolorist, painter, draftsman and manufacturer of gouaches. As a painter he was self-taught. His subjects were landscapes (genre), flower still lifes, portraits and from the sixties also and especially abstract art. He was a member of Art and Culture North Holland.
