Le marquis de L'Hôpital was the first mathematician to learn calculus from one of his first practitioners, Jean Bernoulli, who spent several months at the Domaine de L’Hôpital in 1692 to teach a new method. The following year L'Hôpital proved his mastery of calculus by solving a problem proposed by Bernoulli, and he was quickly elected an honorary member of the Academy of Sciences. L’Hôpital’s analysis was immediately recognized as a significant contribution to mathematics. The book generalized differential notation in France and contributed to its dissemination throughout Europe.

Very fresh inside without any stains or foxing.

Very good copy. 67540285
