Beautiful antique 19th century church statue, Holy statue, Joseph with baby Jesus.
Saint Joseph as father of Jesus. The evangelists Matthew and Luke present him as the nurturing father of Jesus and not as a biological father. Matthew is accurate. He does not speak of gifting life — as he does for all the forefathers in the family tree of Jesus. He describes Joseph as Mary's husband, and out of her Jesus was born (1:16). While Luke says that Joseph was the father of Jesus in the view of men (3:23), he seemed to be his father.
Height 88 cm, weight approximately 40 kg.
The statue is in very good used antique condition, certainly for its old age. Misses a little grey paint.
I recommend to look at the photos, everything is clearly depicted. This will give a better impression than words.
