Very large statue of Saint Isodorus of Madrid You really don't see much. This Isodorus is the patron of Madrid and of the peasants. He lived from 1070-1130. He was very pious and performed several miracles during his life. In 1615, the relics of the humble servant were brought to the bedroom of the seriously ill Philip III, after which the king immediately recovered. The king then applied to the pope to canonize Isidore, which happened in 1622
