Rare Lyon edition, listed nowhere, of a classic of the life of the Saints of the 17th century. Its author, Pedro de Ribadeneyra (1526-1611), was a Spanish Jesuit close to Saint Ignatius of Loyola.
Beautiful engravings at the top of each beginning of the month
19th century binding, copy saved, about thirty leaves remarked at the beginning and three leaves remarked at the end (some with partial lack of text), one leaf missing (p.3/4). 19th century binding is dead. Copy that deserves a new binding to save it again!
