Elegant set from the Napoleon III period in chiseled gilt bronze, part of the barrel is in celestial blue porcelain painted with a decoration of flowers in bouquets.
The four flower decorations on the pair of candlesticks are different and hand-painted.
The famous "celestial blue" color background was created in 1753 by Jean Hellot, director of the Academy of Sciences attached to the Royal Manufacture for the first complete table service delivered by the Royal Manufacture of Sèvres to Louis XV between 1753 and 1755.
This polychrome and gold decoration of bouquets of flowers standing out against a celestial blue background is directly inspired by the service created for Louis XV.
Lot probably composed of associated elements. A missing ornament on the back of the putto, probably a quiver.
