Louis de Wecker (Frankfurt am Main, September 29, 1832 - Paris, January 24, 1906) was a French ophthalmologist.

He studied medicine in Würzburg, Berlin, Vienna and Paris and obtained doctorates in Würzburg (1855) and Paris (1861). From 1862 he maintained a popular ophthalmic clinic in Paris.
Jacques Rodolphe Edmund Landolt (Paris, May 17, 1846 - May 9, 1926) was a Swiss ophthalmologist. He discovered "Landolt's bodies between the rods and cones of the outer core layer of the retina, investigated the functions of the eye muscles and devised a new advancement operation.
