Grand diploma of the Legion of Honor given at the Tuileries on August 28, 1817.
Signatures of Louis XVIII (claw - it is therefore not handwritten), MacDonald (Grand Chancellor) and Viscount of Saint Mare (Secretary General).
Auguste-Louis-Pierre Pérardel (born in 1788) who here becomes a knight of the order is a soldier who distinguished himself in particular at Wagram (1809) and was wounded.
The Léonore database shows us that he was made a knight on April 3, 1814, the very day of Napoleon's forfeiture by the Senate. This appointment was therefore not effective immediately but only in 1817. Louis XVIII being the sovereign and Pérardel a former soldier of Napoleon, the latter had to sign an oath of loyalty to Louis XVIII to receive his decoration, which he did.
Diploma on parchment, embossed stamp, small holes in the folds, a small tear in the E of "Patrie" at the top. 67527957
