"The Triumph of Bacchus" - a large bronze sculpture group of the Roman God Bacchus, a half-naked Bacchante and a pair of putti.
The statue bears the signature Clodion and was made in the second half of the 19th century. This is a beautiful quality version, which can be seen, for example, in the beautiful detailing of faces, clothing and hands.
The statue is mounted on a loose wooden base of 4 cm thick with 2 pins.
