Writer creator of Captain America in 1940
In early 1940 Joe Simon and Jack Kirby began working for Timely. The international tensions that foreshadowed an upcoming war and the situation of the Jews in Germany, which particularly affected Simon, Kirby and Martin Goodman (owner of Timely), all three Jews, pushed for the creation of a new patriotic superhero.
The first appearance of this character, named Captain America, was in the first issue of Captain America Comics, published on December 20, 1940.
This first episode was a huge success with sales exceeding one million copies (this figure was not uncommon at the time, but it marked the success). Simon and Kirby only produced the first ten episodes before leaving for DC Comics but Captain America continued to be published by Timely until the 1950s.
The character came back in the 1960s, first in The Avengers and then in Tales of Suspense. Marvel then took all the rights on this character and it was not until 2003 that Simon ( 90 years old ) and Kirby were recognized as the creators of the character and that a part of the royalties paid to Marvel for the use of the hero was given to them.
He died on December 14, 2011 at the age of 98.

DF Signed comics are generally limited edition comics, which are hand numbered and come sealed with a numbered Certificate Of Authenticity (COA) confirming that the signature is authentic. The COA number should match the number on the front of the comic book. There are a small number of signed comic releases from DF that do not have numbering on the front or on the COA either.
However, if the comic cover is hand numbered but the COA isn't, then it's highly likely that the signature is a fake. 67515435
