Beautiful Art Deco car mascot circa 1930 featuring a silver metal sea lion typical of the work of its sculptor

It is signed FRECOURT on the terrace: Weight: 595 Gr

FRECOURT (1890 - 1961)
Maurice Frécourt began practicing in 1890, a date which is often wrongly given as that of his birth.
A student of Valton and Boucher, he specialized in animal sculpture.
His youth and enthusiasm enabled him to make a name for himself in the field of Belle Époque bronze arts.
But it was from the 1920 Salon that he acquired fame and prestige, happily translating the hieratic imperatives of the Art Deco style into his vision of the animal world.
All animals interest him whether domestic or wild, they serve as models throughout his career.
His variations on the elephant, the panther and the monkey have become classics of stylized animal representation
