The Pantera was designed by American-born designer Tom Tjaarda of the Italian design agency Carrozzeria Ghia.
The car debuted in Modena in March 1970 and later at the 1970 New York Motor Show.
Ford America got the rights to sell the Tomaso Pantera and compete with GM's Corvette.
With Ford's 5.7 liter Cleveland V8 engine, it delivered 330 hp.
From 1971 to 1992 no less than 7260 units were built.
