First edition, very complete with the large folding map of the Kabylia of Djurjura to be used for the Expedition of 1857.

Émile Carrey's book was written on the spot. A real report of the campaign of 1857. A campaign without precedent by its scale and the means implemented. The author of “Récits de Kabylie”, a civilian, accompanies during the summer of 1857 the expeditionary force placed under the orders of Marshal Randon.

Bound copy, contemporary red half-sheepskin. Smooth spine decorated with gilded irons. Embossed dishes (floral motifs). - Small tear (without loss) in head cover, solid volume. Fresh interior, light and pale foxing. Map well preserved.
