Large illustrations of pre-Latin hieroglyphics and inscriptions. Parchment binding, with rich frieze and frames impressed on the plates, spine with 5 raised bands.

CONTENTS
Ponderous historical treatise which - starting from biblical exegesis - deals with the history and customs of the peoples who are mentioned in the biblical story. Extract from the main work of Johannes Braunius: Doctrina foedorum, sive systema theologiae didacticae et elencticae, Amsterdam, 1688. Work divided into five books. A collection of books accepted into the canon of the different Christian denominations which forms the first of the two parts of the Bible, which roughly corresponds to the Tanakh, also called the Hebrew Bible.

Parchment binding, with rich frieze and frames impressed on the plates, spine with 5 raised bands with coeval manuscript title. Some dark spots to the dishes. Sprayed and burnished cuts. Title page with engraved printer's brand and titles in red and black. Widespread foxing. Wide margins with author's notes. Woodcut front panels, finials and drop caps. 6 woodcut plates and 3 folded plates.
