Catawiki’s goal is to make special objects universally available. Our weekly auctions feature thousands of unusual, rare, and exceptional objects you won’t find in just any store. A religious offering block or money box with copper handmade plaques with old symbolism of possibly Saint Nicholas with candy bag or carnivalesque candy bag and four-leaf clovers on the sides (very old medieval symbol).
The symbolism probably means that part of the harvest is given (or taken) from the carrier and will bring good luck (four-leaf clover).

The whole is handmade and carved, the walls of the box are attached to each other by means of small wooden dowels/pins and dates from around 1890/1900, probably stood in a church, monastery or other (religious) institution to collect money for the poor, children or any other cultural or social cause.

Dimensions: 22 x 17 x 11 cm

Will be well packaged and sent by registered mail if desired.
