Wonderful "cartoccio" carved frame with pure gold gilding, in Baroque style.
Note the importance of woodworking, especially in the upper part, where an extremely complex and laborious carving is made. In the simplest workings, the carvings tend to be quite two-dimensional (squashed), resulting rather flat. The exposed frame, on the other hand, has strongly three-dimensional and curled volutes, very difficult to achieve from a technical point of view. It is certainly a collector's item and a unique piece for executive quality.
Inside there is a cardboard print that can possibly be removed.
Good general state of conservation for its age: some imperfections, slight restorations, or small faults compatible with the age of the frame.
Indicative dimensions: 50x35x5 cm.
