This painting shows a typical Dutch subject of a fisherman in a watery landscape by Jan Harm Weijns (1864-1945).
He was a drawing teacher and also a teacher at the Academy of Visual Arts and Technical Sciences and was a member of the artists' associations Arti Amicitiae, Sint Lucas, Pulchri Studio, the Rotterdamse Kunstenaarssocieteit and the Rotterdamse Tien.
J.H. Weijns painted landscapes (eg Kralingse Plas and Nieuwkoopse Plassen), interiors, portraits and still lifes.
The painting is an oil on panel with the internal dimensions of 24 x 36 cm and is in good condition. Framed in a gold-bronze colored frame (with some damage on the corners). The painting will be shipped via PostNL. 67387401
