Work written in the vernacular, divided into three books, which describe the customs and traditions respectively of the peoples of Africa, Asia and Europe. The Italian translation was made by the Venetian Lucio Fauno, pseudonym of the humanist Giovanni Tarcagnota (about 1508-1566) and printed for the first time in 1542, while Giglio's fourth book on the Americas appeared for the first time in 1558.

CONTENTS
Edited by Johann Boehme (Boemus) (c. 1485-1535), German humanist, traveler and Hebrew scholar, born in Aub (Lower Franconia) and chaplain of the Teutonic Order, hence the appellation of Aubanus Teutonicus, Hans Böhm or Johann Boemus, was historian, poet and canon of the Lutheran church of Ulm. His work, published for the first time in 1520, was reprinted in over fifty editions during the sixteenth century and was translated, adapted and even plagiarized several times in many European languages.

CONDITION REPORT
In-8°, [9], 180 numbered only on recto + [3]. Coeval full parchment binding. Nerve back. Engraving typographical brand on the title page and at the end. Handwritten ex libris on title page. Colophon in calligram. Words handwritten and subsequently canceled at first glance. Marginal woodworm holes on some initial pages that do not affect the text, water and ink stains scattered throughout the volume. Burnished edges, diffused foxing.
