A genuine 1949 Norton Manx with matching numbers (NOC and VMCC certificates included in sale) now legally registered for road use.

Sent to Disney in Victoria, Australia on 22 September 1948, supplier of racing Nortons and Vincents. Restored by Mitchell Barnes, well known in the Manx world, who increased the size to 550cc and increased the compression to 9.2:1 and converted it to twin cams. He wrote an article for "Old Bike" an Australian magazine covering the restoration, which will be attached.

The bike is now in France. It is registered in the UK and is road legal.

Modifications made since leaving Australia are as follows:
Racing gearbox replaced with road gearbox (with kick starter), decompressor lever, racing exhaust replaced with new road exhaust, Amal 10TT90 carburettor replaced with new Amal concentric carburettor.
New clutch basket with Surflex clutch, fitted standard compression plate (8.6:1 ) and Oldham coupling, fitted road going engine sprocket, tail light and battery.

All original parts have been retained and go with the bike so that it can be returned to competition specification.

It normally starts on the first or second kick.
