Catawiki’s goal is to make special objects universally available. Our weekly auctions feature thousands of unusual, rare, and exceptional objects you won’t find in just any store. 6 interlocking serving bowls, made in the Art Deco period anno 1920 by Val Saint Lambert / Luxval, designed by Charles Graffart and René Delvenne.
These were given the model name “Eclat” and can be found in the Luxval 1935 catalogue, see appendix.
The bowls are made of clear pressed glass where a particle has been added to crystal to obtain a nicer shine, this often happened with art deco glassware.
One bowl has a chip on the corner, see photos
Considering the age, some traces of use may be present, as well as imperfections such as glass threads and air bubbles are completely normal for art deco glassware. This is not unusual for glassware that is almost 100 years old.
