Third engraving from a series of four, depicting the story of Lot.

Aldegrever (1502-1561) was a German painter and engraver. He was one of the "Little Masters", the group of German artists making small old master prints in the generation after Albrecht Dürer. Over the past few years, artists like Aldegrever or Beham have gained much-increased interest in the art market.

Condition:
A very good dark and well-balanced impression on 16th-century laid paper. Trimmed to the plate mark. With some old glue marks on verso, not visible on front.
